    The Lightning was probably the most spectacular airplane ever created in Great Britain. It is the only truly supersonic fighter that was designed and built without cooperation from overseas partners. It sheer power allowed a vertical climb from take-off; a not entirely noiseless experience but everybody loved it. Contains a unique collection of spectacular, vintage color photographs. Many air-to-air images were taken by the pilots themselves and show the aircraft in its different variants.
