Tanit Phoenix was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She enrolled in ballet from the age of 5 and danced for 15 years. Phoenix resides alternately in Cape Town and Los Angeles. She is currently in a relationship with actor Sharlto Copley. She is a vegan, is studying to be a vegan nutritionist and is a qualified hypnotherapist. She also trains in Muay Thai.
