The present double LP is really wonderful, with "Los Incas" in all their splendor and maturity. I already advanced to you part of the story in my previous "Los Incas" delivery. As you can see in the credits of the 1969 LP "Bridge over trouble water", Paul Simon used the original arrangement and performance of a piece called "El cóndor pasa", recorded by the group in 1963, added new lyrics and turned it into the superhit "If I could". A few years later, Paul Simon would embark on a solo tour called "Live Rhymin", used again the "El cóndor pasa" tune, and invited to "Los Incas". There were several legal problems with the group's label, though, so they decided to gave birth to a new, emblematic ensemble called "Urubamba", with the same performers and with the sole purpose to accompany Paul Simon in his tour, quite an amusing story indeed. By the way, they would later make their only LP under that name, which I already posted here (http://avaxhome.ws/hraphile/Urubamba.html), a one not to miss, certainly. OK, let's urn to "Los Incas" again. The present recording includes some fundamental pieces in their career as performers and, now, also composers. You can also find beautiful pieces like "Kacharpari", o "El eco", whose tune would be borrowed by Art Garfunkel in his solo LP "Angle clare", under he title "Mary was an only child" (with the characteristic charango sound of Jorge Milchberg, leader of "Los Incas" and "Urubamba").

Spanish.
