Burnin Red Ivanhoe - Burnin Red Ivanhoe (Warner Bros. 1970) 24-bit/96 kHz Vinyl Rip (Requested Post)

Burnin Red Ivanhoe's second album is step forward from their first, M144. The songs are longer and more developed than on their debut. "Across The Windowsill" is a great opener with the focus on strong vocals, a catchy melody and excellent guitar work. "Canaltrip" is a jazzy, laid-back, trippy tune. "Rotating Irons" is bluesy, with harmonica, and builds to an exciting climax. "Gong-Gong,The Elephant Song" has lots of elephant sounding horns and cymbals and sounds not dissimilar to the U.K. band East of Eden. "Near The Sea" is a cool, laid-back tune with guitar and a nice flute solo. "Secret Oyster Service" the almost 10 minutes long closing track: starts off free-form, then transforms into a pumping jazz/rock riff. Overall a very enjoyable jazz/rock fusion album with the rock aspect mostly getting the upper hand.
