Where rock meets jazz, folk and friimpro you will find DYKDYPP. The young and energetic quintet started in 2021, and has since played at a number of festivals, done two tours and recorded their debut album in the ear studio. The band works closely with their own written compositions, and has tremendous joy in the music they create.

On her upcoming album, pianist Alice Sara Ott presents world premiere recordings of piano transcriptions of late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson’s most famous works. It includes some of Jóhannsson’s iconic works from different films as well as from his studio albums, including Orphée and Englabörn. Ott’s interpretations capture the essence of the composer’s hauntingly beautiful music.

This live album features a concert by Jethro Tull on March 16, 1985 in Berlin as one of the main events of the "300th Anniversary of the Birth of J.S. Bach" event. This is the only Jethro Tull concert of the year, as he had not toured since he had not released any albums during this period. The concert is the only one from that year, and features a special guest appearance by Eddie Jobson, formerly of U.K., who participated in the 1980 album "A" and also toured with Jethro Tull. The concert was recorded and broadcast by the German TV station WDR. This is a live album from the sound sources used for the broadcast, and includes the complete concert including cover numbers and Bach pieces. The five members are Ian Anderson and his friend Martin Barr, drummer Dawn Perry, who was with the band from 1984 until the band stopped playing, Dave Pegg, who has been with Jethro Tull the longest on bass, and guest player Eddie Jobson, formerly of Carved Air - U.K. Eddie Jobson. Julia Blair was born of this world as a force to smother the disquieting agents of despair- and as a gentle soul that no-less employs her mighty voice to speak truth to power. On her second solo album, All Of My Important Things, Julia proclaims her fondness for self-expression and demonstrates her aptitude for dynamics: from the explosive nature of a pop hook to the firm, comforting grip of a lullaby. She does so at-times anecdotally, while utilizing the marriage of sophisticated arrangements and plain-spoken lyrical language.

Over the last few years, Amanda Favier and Élodie Soulard have formed an original tandem that shakes things up. Their first album together is a gem, offering a programme that is by turns sparkling and nostalgic, devoted to the brilliant Viennese composer and arranger Fritz Kreisler. The virtuoso violin and accordion create a unique alchemy of sound, both modern and timeless, inviting us to rediscover these nuggets, often played as an encore.

In "Monadology, XXXVI, 'Chopin': 12 Études", composer Bernhard Lang transforms Chopin's famous Études Op. 10 into a radical 'meta-composition'. The Austrian composer dissects the original scores and reconstructs them as new sound structures. This piece is part of Lang's monumental 'Monadology' series (more than forty compositions, 2007–2020), in which existing music, ranging from Chopin to Mozart and Ligeti, is deconstructed and rewritten as self-reflective musical texts.

The musical lineup consists of pianist Steve Hunt, bassist Christian Fabian, and vocalist Lewis Robinson. Pianist Steve Hunt, who refined his lightning-fast technique under the tutelage of Albert Hirsh, Sid Davis, and Lyle Mays, has performed and recorded with Stanley Clarke and Allan Holdsworth and has toured globally. Bassist Christian Fabian, a Berklee alumnus who studied with Mike Longo and Ron Carter, co-leads The Lionel Hampton Big Band, accepted the Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award for Hamp in 2021, and recently became a Grammy® Nominee himself following a sold-out show at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Vocalist Lewis Robinson is an award-winning singer-songwriter with a 30-year international touring career. He teaches vocal and stage performance, performs lead vocals with his own band covering jazz favorites, R&B, and original compositions, and has a commercial background in radio and television.

Grammy Award nominee Ernie Haase and Signature Sound bring A Jazzy Little Christmas to Birdland on Monday, December 2 at 7:00 PM. With true, four-part harmony and a three-piece jazz band, the live show is reminiscent of the sounds of The Four Freshmen with the jazz of Tony Bennett.

In 2017 I wrote Autumn Rain, and for the first time in years I felt that I could ask musicians to try things out with me. I knew Terje and Tine from before, and I had a feeling that they could contribute to develop my songs and the sound of the new trio. What I didn´t know was that they knew each other very well and had played together for years! Both said yes, and we started to rehearse together in 2019.
