Ace Frehley is a 1978 solo album from the lead guitarist of KISS. It was one of four solo albums released by the members of KISS on September 18, 1978. The album featured Anton Fig on drums, who later performed session work on the KISS albums and , as well as become a member of Ace Frehley's post-Kiss band Frehley's Comet. Fig, along with Will Lee, who played bass on three tracks on this album, became permanent members of Paul Shaffer's band on Late Night with David Letterman and Late Show with David Letterman. Of the members of KISS, Ace Frehley was the most ready to break out from the confines of a band environment and create music individually. Ace was ready for a bit of creative experimentation on his own with his confidence having grown over the previous year. With his recording of lead vocals for songs on “Love Gun” and “Alive II,” Ace was becoming more and more comfortable with the prospect of tackling lead vocals on a regular basis. Indeed, the tracks from those two albums, “Shock Me” and “Rocket Ride,” were instant classics and greatly impressed the legions of the KISS Army and record critics as well. Inserts for "Ace Frehley" included: A merchandise order form & a fold out poster that was cut in a puzzle piece to fit together with the other "Solo" album posters. I've included scans for everything that came in the first pressing.
