Webb Wilder is an American "Roots Rocker". On this, his second album and first for a major label, he backs off on his more eccentric influences in favor of a straight ahead Rock package. That's if you think a song about working under the Big Top as human canonball is "straight ahead". The fretwork Webb, David Grissom and Jerry Douglas pull off on this recording always makes me smile. Working within the confines of such simple music the three of them consistantly bubble under the grooves not only throwing in riffs from left field but from the upper decks as well. -tubert

Work hard,
Rock hard,
Eat hard,
Sleep hard,
Grow big,
Wear glasses if you need 'em!

That's the Webb Wilder Credo.

I remember the day at work when the other guy ran into my lab while I was fixing a Revox tape deck. He was holding this Webb Wilder CD and said, "someone just traded this in and it has your name all over it". I gave it a listen. 20 years latter I have a vinyl. Something about that dog.
