    Ad Maiora starts as progressive rock's project in Milan (Italy) in january of 2009. They come from different musical experiences, more or less continuous. They never stop to believe in the extraordinary communicative power of their genre. They perform their own compositions, which are originals (in all senses). At april 30, 2010 the group is reduced to 4 elements and performs in Olgiate Olona his first concert. Since december 2011, Paolo Callioni joins the band on vocals. In 2014 the released their first album: "Ad Maiora!" followed by "Repetita Iuvant" two years after. In march of 2017 Luca Nava replaces Enzo Giardina on drums.

    As long as George Benson was a hot commodity on Warner Bros. and Creed Taylor still had control over his tottering CTI label, the flow of recycled and unreleased Benson product from his old label kept on coming. But oh, how a few years make a difference in the packaging, for the luxurious glossy gatefold covers of CTI's glory days were replaced by a bare-bones, sparsely illustrated paperboard sleeve that smacks of cost-cutting.

    Flugelhornist Art Farmer's fourth and final LP for CTI also features tenor-saxophonist Joe Henderson. The material (which includes originals by Clare Fischer, Joe Zawinul, Don Grolnick and Mike Mainieri) is not the most memorable and the funky rhythm section (which is greatly expanded) does not really blend all that well with the styles of Farmer and Henderson so this set is not as exciting as one might hope. A decent but largely forgettable effort.
