    "Heliotropiske Reiser" is an album of instrumental explorations in spaced out kraut rock, ambient, dub, acid house and electronic progressive rock. Alwanzatar has existed since 2011 as the experimental one-man project of Krizla (Tusmørke, Spectral Haze). The album was recorded over a six-month period in 2016 and 2017, in Krizla’s home studio Holy Space!, situated by the woods above the suburban area Groruddalen in Oslo. Here, heavy traffic, industry and high rises meet the wilderness. The sounds are inspired by visiting forest denizens, airborne vehicles crossing the sky signalling in pulses of coloured lights, slow hazy sunsets, and early morning moon light.     Born in 1954, Bruno Coulais is a French born film and television soundtrack composer whose first full-length work appeared in 1986 – the score for the Sebastien Grall film La Femme Secrete. He kept to the television end of film scoring and composition for the next few years, and in 1996 he was to earn his first big marks for his work on the documentary Microcosmos, which won him the 1997 Cesar Award. With this success in tow, Coulais went on to the big screen, and some of the most popular French movies over the next few years featured his work, including the 2001 world-wide hit, Winged Migration. After this brief – and successful – foray into cinematics, Coulais went off on his own, composing a children's opera, and delving into collaborative efforts with Akhentaon and A Filetta. But films and television were not left behind completely, and by 2008 – the year of Coulais' soundtrack to the film MR 73 – Coulais added another 13 or so credits to his résumé. More followed in the coming years, including soundtracks for 2010's documentary Babies and Jean-Paul Salomé's drama The Chameleon in the same year.

    Album four from Italy’s Mogador shows the band continuing to expand their musical ambitions, although at times their reach exceeds their grasp. The group was founded by drummer Richard Allen and his stamp is very prominent, with his drums excessively high in the mix on several songs – he’s positively distracting on Summer Sun. The rockier numbers have a tendency towards arrangements where everyone pulls in different directions, most noticeably keys player Samuele Dotti, and it’s the gentler songs, like the acoustic Tell Me Smiling Child and the jazzy lounge vibe of Breaking Day, that stand out.

    Die dritte Single der Rivalen und Rebellen Ära hebt sich nicht nur durch den Inhalt der Songs sondern auch durch das Design von ihren Vorgängern ab. Und das zu Recht. Herz schlägt Herz ist der Titel der Single und der gleichnamige Song ist sogar in zweifacher Ausführung präsent. Die Band wollte hier versuchen die Botschaft dieses Songs so gut wie möglich rüber zu bringen und konnte sich schlussendlich nicht entscheiden ob die rockigere Variante oder die softer dafür besser geeignet ist. Der Song beschreibt das Problem des inneren Schweinehundes das wohl jeder Mensch auf dieser Welt in sich trägt. Bei manchen schlummert er Jahrzehnte bis er sich ganz plötzlich und unerwartet meldet.
