Al Marconi - Alchemy (2015)

The motivation behind the recording of this project was the void in the marketplace that I discovered for recordings of this nature. I was struggling to find contemporary music written specifically for nylon strung guitar that incorporated a non-traditional approach and with a more experimental dynamic and interesting "outside-of-the-box" chordal progressions and unusual and exotic melodic phrasing. I figured the only way to fix the problem was to come up with it myself!

Some of these ideas have been with me for more then a decade as I was waiting until I had the "right sound" to produce this understated recording with the desired effect I wanted to acheive. I also had to be brave enough to, for the most part, just let the guitar do all the talking in a more puristic and somewhat naked environment.

With this recording I am delighted to present the result of my endeavours to you and I don't mind confessing that this is the first album of mine that I actually really enjoy listening back to myself. Hopefully you the listener will gain similar rewards.
