Flemish Radio Choir - Mendelssohn: Motets & Piano Trio (2017)

The respected Flemish Radio Choir and their director Hervé Niquet join forces with violinist Pekka Kuusisto, cellist Pieter Wispelwey, and pianist Alasdair Beatson for a unique programme of vocal and chamber works by Mendelssohn. Opening with 3 Psalms, Op. 78, the choir presents warm yet clear interpretations of further sacred pieces such as Die Deutsche Liturgie in A Major and the eponymous work the 3 Motets, Op. 69. These are complemented by delicately balanced performances of the Piano Trio No. 2 and the Cello Sonata No. 2 by the renowned instrumentalists that are Kuusisto, Wispelwey, and Beatson.
