    The fact that the jazz guitarist is now celebrating his 40th anniversary on stage is impressive and once again explains the never boring or monotonous joy of playing that Sagmeister brings into his music, but of course also in his new work "Power Of Resistance". 15 tracks long, mostly own compositions, shows Michael Sagmeister once more all registers of his skills and also puts variety in tempos and game or music styles to the spearhead of the album, the same also several cover versions with material by, among others, Henry Mancini ("Day Of Wine And Roses") or Thelonius Monk ("Round Midnight") - the SOUL TRAIN reported countless times on all mentioned.

    Michael Sagmeister plays with elements such as groove, ideals from jazz but also blues history, lets his guitar prance, melody courses hover and moan, chooses quiet moments, the soulful inner calm of his songs and his kind, his instrument, the acoustic guitar to serve and to play, and convinces just in the cross-song whole of an album like "Power Of Resistance", which shows gently and vigorously at the same time, how intense music can sound, whom she is simply well done.

    In the Eden Ahbez classic "Nature Boy" (the SOUL TRAIN repeatedly reported on this legendary song giant), interpreted by the expressive, warm voice of Antonella Dorio, shows that self-confident rest in first-class musicianship and the routine, courageous networking of content and playful light-footedness especially.

    With "Power Of Resistance" Michael Sagmeister once again shows that hardly anyone in the Central European firmament of the acoustic jazz guitar can hold his breath - music full of grace and elegance and down-to-earth musicality.
