The Madrid-based violinist Pablo Suárez Calero has presented his second CD, 'The Ysaÿe Sonatas', new record of the Solé Recordings label with which he offers the integral of the Six sonatas for solo violin, op. 27 of Eugene Ysaÿe, perhaps the most celebrated and programmed collection of universal violinist literature (along with the Bach sonatas and partitas, with which a great parallelism is shown).

This disc is the second recording of Suárez, which premiered with Vivaldi's four seasons, and with it wants to close a cycle in which he aspires to leave, in his own words, "his fingerprint", a personal purpose with which Pays a well-deserved tribute to his violin teachers who both instilled in him the need for his own style and characteristic when interpreting, as well as the need to leave his imprint on the sounds and not only on the staging.

At the presentation, at La Quinta de Mahler in Madrid on Thursday, April 6, 2017, he was accompanied by the musicographer Abelardo Martín Ruiz, co-author of the notes to the album along with Stefano Russomanno and recording engineer, Marco Penaría. And at the beginning of the presentation and before starting to speak, he performed in full live the fifth sonata of Ysaÿe, included in the disc.

Eugene Ysaÿe (Liege 1858-1931) is considered the greatest violinist in the world and one of the greatest virtuosos of the instrument. Initiated in the French Romanticism, facet in which it stands out for its harmonic development, and in its maturity composed Sonatas for violin solo, op. 27, in which he is shown as a master of the Expressionist. Ysaÿe has been considered for this, and by its resemblance with Bach, like a baroque of century XX.
