Recording a jazz album these days presents a lot of challenges. Most studio environments isolate the musicians from each other, sometimes losing the spontaneous magic of jazz. We took a different approach – we found a room with good acoustics, and recorded these tracks live with the entire quartet together in the room at once. We hoped to capture a live jazz club sound, with all the human irregularities intact and uncorrected. Did it work? We think so, and hope you do too!
