    THIS TIME NOW is a sound conceived by drummer, teacher, composer, arranger and author, Tony Noterfonzo. The group's sound draws from a wide range of influences including the days of Swing to the early days of BeBop through the Post-Bop era to the more contemporary sounds of today's jazz scene (Latin, Blues, World Music, etc.) with a focus on total group improvisation.

    The trio's format forms the core of the group's sound in lieu of its quartet and quintet settings, drawing from the styles of Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett, just to name a few.

    The writing style for the group is written to feature every member of the group which maintains a well-established balance in the overall group sound and makes for a more uniform playing style and experience.

    The sound is about the present and being in the moment which is why the group and sound will always reflect "THIS TIME NOW"!
