Jazz, Swing | Label: Poll Winners Records

Digitally remastered and expanded edition. Contains the complete original LP the Art Tatum Trio, pairing the superb pianist with bassist Red Calendar and the great swing drummer Jo Jones (this is the only existing studio collaboration between Tatum and Jones). This was among the last sessions recorded by Tatum, who would die soon after on November 5, 1956 at the age of 47. As a bonus to the 10 tracks on the original album, we have included different versions by Tatum of seven of the LP's songs, which have been organized here in the same song order as on the Tatum-Calendar-Jones date. –Poll Winners. 2011.
