Lazybirds - Lord Loves a Workin' Band (2018)

Lazybirds is a classic American band with roots in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Their down to earth style, reverence for the roots, stellar harmonies and seasoned chops carry on the tradition of unpretentious, good time music that fans have treasured over the years.

Formed in 1996, the quartet began by immersing into the old forgotten styles of blues, jazz, country, and ragtime that had been the soundtrack of the American underground numerous decades earlier. The band quickly developed a reputation in the High Country for playing music that touches people at their core in a way that hearkens back to a time when music was more closely intertwined with nature.

Together they have played top festivals across the Southeast and have shared the stage with the legendary Doc Watson as well as The Avett Brothers, Merle Sanders and their friends The Old Crow Medicine Show. Reflecting on their early days bumming around Boone, Medicine Shows spearhead Ketch Secor recalls “the Old Crow boys knew it was the Lazybirds who were the best musicians on the scene. Why after all it was the Lazybirds who played those infectious country blues with the feverish swing which got all the girls going down to King Street”

Lazybirds new Album "Lord Loves A Workin Band" features some good old blues and country, along with 2 original songs and 3 live tracks recorded at Moonlight on the Mountain in Birmingham Al.
