London-based powerhouse groove and funk outfit Redtenbacher’s Funkestra are the brainchild of Austrian bassist and principal composer Stefan Redtenbacher. ‘The Vinyl Collection’ represents an excellent cross-section of their own, unalloyed, joyful and wall-to wall instrumental funk stew with a hefty sprinkling of Jazz elements on top. The tunes were chosen by popularity and Stefan Redtenbacher’s favourite tracks from the Funkestra’s past 10 releases.
