Klaus Schulze, apparently intriqued with being labeled "(one of the) Fathers of Trance and Techno" takes a stab at it himself, along with U.W. Uberschall and Georg Stettner. Schulze's own web site says this is "okay, but….". And it is. Apart from some samples taken from earlier Schulze efforts, it would be hard to believe he had anything to do with this. Indeed, most of the sampling is provided by "Uberschall Sample Service", and is typical of what any techno record from the early 90's sounded like. Musically, Schulze's contribution is almost unrecognizable. Some snippets here and there maybe (although some of the more quieter moments are similar to the next Wahnfried effort). To be sure, that's partly what the "Wahnfried" project is for - to explore new musical territory, but this sounds like it was thrown together by a fledgling musician who dreams of playing late night raves. Schulze would try again with "Trance Appeal" and get much better results. One note : Alphaville fans may be interested as Marian Gold contributes vocals on "Duel".Tracklist:
