Risk of epidemics is a new enemy
Justice authorizes exhumation before the deadline to make way for the disaster and 70 dead are buried as indigents to avoid cholera, leptospirosis and other diseases
Rio - In addition to suffering the loss of relatives, friends and neighbors, surviving in the mountainous region now face a new enemy: the risk of epidemics. Fatal diseases such as leptospirosis (transmitted by rat urine), hepatitis A and E, tetanus, cholera and diarrhea are more common after disasters such as the region. The badly decomposed bodies in the debris increases the risk to survivors and rescue teams in the area.
