This is a typical comedy short of '38. Showing off the studio's stars ( Humphrey Bogart, Marie Wilson, Pat O'Brien,
John Garfield and 'the lovely lane girls too) The short contains songs all in the 15 minutes given. The first is too
corny to watch waitresses dancing in the studio restaurant doing a typical chorus line type dance.The something I've
found fun was: a long running joke between the director, assistant and the leading lady. One thing that is startling
is the dramatic change in the newly discovered leading lady's appearance. At the beginning she looks thin and a
little older. Once discovered is transformed to a beautiful leading lady, and all done by more make-up and costumes.

Der Film entstand in den Warner Bros. Studios im Jahr 1938 unter der Regie von Crane Wilbur.
Swingtime in the Movies erhielt 1939 eine Oscar-Nominierung für den besten Kurzfilm. Den begehrten Oscar aus dieser
Kategorie ging aber an The Declaration of Independence der ebenfalls unter der Regie von Crane Wilbur realisiert wurde.
In der "berühmten" Studio-Kantine-Szene des Films hatten einige damalige Hollywood-Stars einen kurzen Cameo-Auftritt
u.a. Humphrey Bogart mit den Dead End Kids, Marie Wilson, Pat O'Brien, Rosemary Lane oder George Brent. Für Humphrey
Bogart, war dies der erste Film der in Farbe gedreht wurde.
