    Le rédacteur en chef de François, un journaliste consciencieux, lui confie un reportage très tendance : la vie quotidienne d'un ouvrier. Par relation, François trouve l’ouvrier idéal, un certain Claude. Quand il le rencontre, celui-ci à d’autres précoccupations que de lui raconter sa vie : sa femme Lily a quitté le foyer conjugal et Claude n’a qu’une obsession, celle de la reconquérir. François, dérivant de son reportage, va alors s’employer, avec l’aide de quelques amis, à ramener Lily au bercail.

    (Sometimes the story that a journalist is assigned lands him with a boring tale. That's what Francois (Jean-Michel Folon) believes when he is given the job of writing about a "worker"'s life. When he meets the man, he discovers that the man's wife has just left him and moved back to her mother's. The newsman and a friend of his take the poor man out on the town to comfort him. The reporter also interviews the woman who is making the worker's life difficult and even finds a way to fix things up between the couple.)
