Once upon a time, on a very special Christmas Eve, a young girl named Clara received an unusual gift from her adored godfather, Drosselmeyer: a little Nutcracker doll.

Despite its strange, almost ugly, face, Marie instantly fell in love with the toy, and when her jealous younger brother deliberately smashed it to the ground, she was inconsolable. But late that night, when she crept into the parlor to cuddle her injured doll, she suddenly found herself immersed in a world of danger and magic, as her Nutcracker Prince came alive to battle armies of giant mice and lead her through the snow, into the Land of Sweets.
