Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (March 30, 1746 – April 16, 1828) was a Spanish painter and printmaker.
Goya was a court painter to the Spanish Crown, a chronicler of history. He has been regarded both as the last of the old masters and as the first of the moderns. The subversive and subjective element in his art, as well as his bold handling of paint, provided a model for the work of later generations of artists, notably Manet and Picasso.
Many of Goya's works are on display in the Museo del Prado in Madrid.

Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoi (May 27, 1837 - March 24, 1887) (Russian: Иван Николаевич Крамской) was a Russian painter and art critic. He was the intellectual leader of the Russian democratic art movement 1860-1880.
He was originally from a poor petty-bourgeois family. From 1857 to 1863 he studied at the St.Petersburg Academy of Arts; he reacted against academic art, and he was an initiator of the "revolt of fourteen" which ended with an expulsion from the Academy of arts its graduates, who organized Artel of Artists ("Артель художников").

El Greco (probably a combination of the Castilian and the Venetian language for "The Greek",[a] 1541 – April 7, 1614) was a prominent painter, sculptor and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. He usually signed his paintings in Greek letters with his full name, Doménicos Theotocópoulos (Greek: Δομήνικος Θεοτοκόπουλος), underscoring his Greek descent.
