Eva Green was born in Paris, France to a French mother and a Swedish father, and was raised in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. She attended the American School of Paris for her formal years. Her mother is actress Marlène Jobert; her father, Walter Green, is a Swedish dentist, who appeared in the 1966 film Au hasard Balthazar – this was his first and only on-screen appearance. She has one sibling, a fraternal twin sister, Joy, from whom she is reportedly estranged. Green's name is pronounced /gre:n/, approximately rhyming with "wren" in Swedish; it comes from the Swedish word gren, which means (tree) branch. She studied acting in Paris for three years, followed by a ten-week polishing course at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England.

Adele Silva (born 19 November 1980 in Croydon, London) is an English actress, television personality and sometime glamour model. She was educated at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and has been on stage and television since she was a child. She is best known for playing the role of Kelly Windsor in the television soap opera Emmerdale. She first played this role from 1993 to 2000 before returning to the soap in 2005. Her plotlines have been amongst the most daring in the soap opera, including a semi-incestuous relationship with her step-brother and running off with one of her school teachers. When she returned in 2005, she promised to be the “biggest bitch” in British soap.
