John Barleycorn Must Die moved beyond the jamming that had characterized some of Traffic's 1968 work to approach the emerging field of jazz-rock. And that helped the band to achieve its commercial potential; this became Traffic's first gold album.

One of John Cale's very finest solo efforts, Paris 1919 is also among his most accessible records, one which grows in depth and resonance with each successive listen. A consciously literary work – the songs even bear titles like "Child's Christmas in Wales," "Macbeth," and "Graham Greene" – Paris 1919 is close in spirit to a collection of short stories; the songs are richly poetic, enigmatic period pieces strongly evocative of their time and place. Chris Thomas' production is appropriately lush and sweeping, with many tracks set to orchestral accompaniment; indeed, there's little here to suggest either Cale's noisy, abrasive past or the chaos about to resurface in his subsequent work – for better or worse, his music never achieved a similar beauty again. –Allmusic 4,5/5.

This is a Warner Brothers Germany release from around 1981 and is long deleted and quite rare.
However, it's a great performance and Ry Cooder is still going strong!

Quoted from ripper: "I have a pristine vinyl copy and used my SEE Revolver turntable with Linn Basik tonearm, through an A&R Cambridge phono preamp to digitise this with Pro Tools and an MBox2 in 24 bit depth and 48KHz sampling rate. Edited with Adobe Soundbooth for tracks and re-encoded to FLAC with Easy CD-DA Creator."

After building up an intense live reputation and a rabid fan base, Siouxsie and the Banshees almost had to debut with a stunner – which they did, "Hong Kong Garden" taking care of things on the singles front and The Scream on the full-length. Matched with a downright creepy cover and a fair enough early producing effort from Steve Lillywhite – well before he found gated drum sounds – it's a fine balance of the early band's talents. – Allmusic 4/5

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the British rock group Queen. When released in November 1981, the record consisted of Queen's best-selling singles since their first chart appearance in 1974 with Seven Seas of Rhye, until their most recent album at the time, The Game. There was no universal track listing or cover art for the album, and each territory's tracks were dependent on what singles had been released there and which were successful. In some cases, despite the band's popularity, not enough songs were issued as singles to fill a compilation album, so album tracks were used as filler. In some countries Under Pressure was included, which had been released as a single earlier in the year.
