The spectacular crossover album one of the most unconventional and most versatile performers of early music - Hille Perl and his trio play and improvise with electro-acoustic instruments and explore an original repertoire ranging from Renaissance and Baroque music to music of the legendary Jazz artist Charlie Haden. The Italian Tenor - Vittorio Grigolo - has an extraordinary background story and he now shares this through a very personal album of sacred music. Schooled at the “very source of sacred music” – in the Sistine Chapel Choir, Vittorio returns to Rome and his childhood choir to present a special collection of beautiful, serene and spiritual songs that played a large role in his musical beginnings.

Dutch/Russian pianist Daria van den Bercken had the classical music world listening when she launched her project ‘Handel At The Piano’ in 2012, playing keyboard works by George Frideric Handel and finding a new audience for this music through videos, concerts and alternative stages including the back of a truck and suspended from a crane.

On the past few years harpist Lavinia Meijer and bandoneón player Carel Kraayenhof have met several times on festivals and concerts. On the stairs of the artist café at Carré Amsterdam the idea popped out: ‘Let’s sit together, play a bit and see if we can come up with a concert repertoire.’ The concerts that quickly followed that idea were a great success and most of them sold out. Thus the idea of recording a live album together. “In Concert”, was recorded on the 7th and 9th of September of this year at Tivoli Vredenburg (NL).

Born in Romania, Valer Barna-Sabadus is a German counter tenor. After taking up the violin and the piano in his youth, Sabadus began voice studies when he was 17. He attended the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich, where he studied with Gabriele Fuchs.

With his sensitive and expressive playing the Swiss violinist Sebastian Bohren, born 1987, ranks among the promising talents of his generation. His solo appearances include the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Munich Residenz, the Tonhalle Zurich and the KKL Lucerne. He worked with Conductors such as Heinrich Schiff, Muhai Tang, Patrick Lange and Nicolae Moldoveanu. Sebastian Bohren plays an outstanding instrument by Antonio Stradivari (King George 1710), generously loaned by the Habisreutinger Foundation.

Marco Polo (1254–1324) is remembered for his adventurous visits to China and Mongolia, visits that he recorded for posterity in a series of colourful and expansive travelogues. Together with Wu Wei, who is the best-known virtuoso on the Chinese sheng, Lautten Compagney set out on the trail of the famous Venetian explorer, resulting in a fascinating combination of traditional Chinese sounds and European Baroque music.
