In 1907 there appeared a book called “The Fiery Angel”, by the Russian autor Valery Bryusov. It’s an exciting story about an impossible love triangle between Renata, a passionate young woman; Ruprecht, a knight; and Madiel, the Fiery Angel.

In 1991, composers Elena Firsova and Dmitri Smirnov were amongst a small group of composers, including Sofia Gubaidulina, blacklisted in Russia. Firsova and Smirnov fled the country with their two young children and took refuge in the UK. Since then, their daughter, Alissa Firsova, now aged 31, has risen to become one of the most notable stars of the new composing generation working in Britain.

The human touch makes a noticeable difference. Listeners invariably respond to that tactile bond between the musician and the music.

Since immigrating to the United States from Scotland in 2014, Lorkin O’Reilly has been making a name for himself as a commanding new songwriting talent. His unique transatlantic approach blends old-country inspired open tunings similar to that of Bert Jansch, Nike Drake and Dick Gaughan with direct and personal reflections and poetry. His writing portrays not only his own reality, but experiences faced by most of us: the purgatory between childhood and adulthood, between new home and old home and finally the overarching struggle of finding a new identity.

Multi-platinum, four-time GRAMMY-nominated band Goo Goo Dolls today announced The Audience is This Way, a 10-track live album recorded on the band’s recent tours. The Audience is This Way is due for release on July 21, 2018 via Warner Bros. Records and will only be physically available as an exclusive limited edition black vinyl at indie-retail stores nationally as part of Record Store Day Crawl. There are only 3,000 copies made of this pressing. The album will also be available for digital download and streaming on August 24.
