"Hey everyone, you really should listen to this music!" Fabian Müller was given Brahms's complete piano works on CD as a child, and he would sit in the back of his parentsʼ car on the way to vacation, enraptured by the music of the Hamburg composer. Nothing has changed in his attitude since then.

Dixieland can be played in very different variations: from the 3-man band consisting of a brass, banjo and bass to the big band, all instrumental combinations are conceivable. A typical occupation, such as in the bebop, where the quintet of trumpet, saxophone, piano, bass and drums was common, there is no Dixieland.

Arthur Benjamin, best known for his Jamaican Rhumba and Storm Cantata (which played a pivotal role in Hitchcock's movie The Man Who Knew Too Much) was also a fine conductor and virtuoso pianist. He led the Vancouver Symphony for three years, but otherwise performed primarily as a pianist. Not surprisingly, the two works for piano and orchestra on this definitive and only recording feature a devilish piano part, played here by Benjamin's piano student, the American-born Lamar Crowson.

With the studio albums released to date and with spectacular concerts, the Kaleidoscope String Quartet (KSQ) has become internationally established very well over the past years. The four Swiss musicians transcend the classical string quartet format into new dimensions and leave genre limitations behind. On their second work Curiosity, released in fall 2015, they already fascinated with striking timbres and charismatic original compositions. In the following performances they amazed even more with virtuosity, dynamic joy in improvisation and consistently playing without any sheet music. Besides that Chorus MusicusKöln, Das NeueOrchesterand Christoph Speringpresent the choral cantatas BWV 93, 3, 10, 116 and 124. Like in their previous recording "J. S. Bach -The Luther Cantatas", Christoph Speringand his two ensembles again present a very interesting mixture of traditionally and newly interpreted cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 -1750).

Mediterranean and Nordic Christmas music with Arianna Savalland her Baroque ensemble HirundoMaris Since the founding of their ensemble in 2009, HirundoMaris, the Catalan harpist and singer Arianna Savall, and the Norwegian tenor and violist PetterUdlandJohansen have committed themselves to music from the Middle Ages up to the Baroque period. And a special emphasis has been Mediterranean and Nordic music. For their current album, “Silent Night –Early Christmas Music and Carols” both musicians and ensemble conductors have chosen traditional Christmas songs from the north and south.

Invisible City Editions reissues a highly sought after and impossibly rare 1986 private-press spiritual jazz album from Washington D.C. harpist Jeff Majors. Majors was a devoted personal student of Alice Coltrane’s for three years as a teenager, taking harp and spiritual instruction at her home in the Bay Area just before she established her renowned ashram in Huntington, California. Following his tutelage with Coltrane, he returned to the East Coast, joining Sun Ra acolyte Brother Ah's ensemble The Sounds Of Awareness, playing on their classic spiritual jazz album Key To Nowhere.

For his first recording with Ricercar, and as a prelude to an anthology of German Baroque harpsichord music, Yoann Moulin tackles works by two of Sweelinck’s most illustrious disciples. The preludes, chorales, fugues, dances and arias with variations of this repertory offer great diversity and enable us to grasp the personalities of the two composers, the introverted Scheidt and the more flamboyant and Baroque Scheidemann.

True country fans will have to wait a little bit longer to hear the debut record from Kentucky traditionalist Dillon Carmichael after it was announced the release will be delayed a couple of months due to undisclosed reasons. The Dave Cobb-produced Hell On An Angel was originally slated to be released on August 17th, 2018 on Riser House, which Dillon Carmichael is signed to both as an artist, and as a songwriter.
