    Melodic Death Metal

Damnation Defaced play Progressive Death Metal which rocks you with aggression, atmosphere and unconventional song structures but does not forget melodies. Drum fusillades, wicked blasts and fast guitar riffs are equal with clean parts and solos plunging you into other spheres. Hard and varied growls are opening another level of an angry but not boring or monotonous. These North German guys don't do things by halves and transport their elaborate Death Metal straight into your skull.

I was introduced to Kitaro thru this mastery of music composition. I spent many years in Vietnam after the ceasing of conflicts there. I am aware of the cultural significance that is portrayed in Kitaro's music and find that his music brings forth beauty from the depths of the horrors of war. The fact that this is also the soundtrack to the movie of the same name starring Tommy Lee Jones dose not take away from it's ability to stand on it own. The music is a representation of the culture and provides an insight into the lives of the Vietnamese people. The people of Vietnam have survived and this music is a tribute to them. I do not have the right words to say to you who read this review just how much this music means to me.

Junior Kelly, his newest album, VP's Tough Life, is very very impressive, I'd venture to say his best in a few years and one of his best ever. The opener and title track is one of the highlights and one of the big sound roots anthems you've come to expect from the artist, just big beautiful sounding reggae music. Also check the excellent Rasta Should Be Deeper, again, big anthemic sounding tune with a fantastic message.

I love this CD. I still play it in heavy rotation with my much more recent music. Bobby was always my favorite New Edition memeber and I followed his music all the way from his first hit "I need a girlfriend" all the way to this CD. I think his vocals are raspy and wonderful. This material is AWESOME and Bobby delivers it all with a perfect mix of elegance and raunchyness. I don't care what anyone says about his personal life, the man is an ARTISTE'. I love him and I would love to see him do more.

Genre: R&B, Soul, Pop | Label: Epic | Fserve, Fsonic

Kat DeLuna's 9 Lives is one of the year's sweetest surprises–a beguiling, bilingual pop debut that should make her a huge star (fingers crossed). The disc is a dazzling showcase for her unique talents, most notably her opera-trained voice, which bends and snaps with ease amid shiny club beats and tropical rhythms. Breakout single "Whine Up" soars on a thundering, round-the-way groove that's impossible to shake after just one listen. But that's just the first of the disc's flirty, feline offerings. "Animal" roars to camp-club perfection, blending anthem-like choruses with dance-diva attitude, and "Run the Show" is a confident party-starter. DeLuna proves equally adept at emotive balladry. The Selena-esque shimmer of "Am I Dreaming" is buoyed by a lilting, beach-kissed groove. And "Love Me, Leave Me" mines the same goth-pop territory as Rihanna's "Unfaithful." Teen pop-heads, Latin soulsters, anyone with a weakness for hooky melodies: DeLuna's 9 Lives will have them all purring with delight.

This is an extraordinary collection of songs that takes you on a real spiritural journey. Jon Anderson celestial-voice-enhanced tracks give a more modern sound to it keeping the best "Ethnic Fusion" and Oriental traditions of Kitaro's music right at the forefront. I believe this is the best CD I have ever heard in my entire life.
