Medeski, Martin & Wood are among the busiest acts in the music biz. To celebrate their 20-year anniversary in 2011, the group has been releasing its latest album, 20, track by track. Also this year, following the grand Radiolarians series, they decided to issue its DVD portion, Fly in a Bottle, as a separate package; finally, there's MSMW Live: In Case the World Changes Its Mind, an utterly kinetic recording from their 2006 tour with jazz guitar boss John Scofield. In 1997 the trio backed Sco on his stellar A Go Go album. He returned the favor in 2006 by playing on MMW's Out Louder; this tour followed. The double disc collects performances from both recordings and a couple of others.

Australian heavy metal warlords RAVEN BLACK NIGHT will release their Metal Blade debut, Barbarian Winter, on February 19th.Raven Black Night formed in 1999 in Adelaide, Australia to start their campaign to bring their traditional metal sound to a worldwide audience. Desperate to remove himself from his original deal with Verve Records, in 1968 Frank Zappa he set up the Bizarre and Straight labels in league with manger Herb Cohen, and so began a string of releases which remain extraordinary in the extreme. This film revisits and reviews the astonishing music that came out on Bizarre and Straight, and reveals the background, operations and, crucially, the lives of the musicians, performers and management who made these labels the legendary reality they became. Includes rare footage, archive interviews and of course the music that made it all worthwhile.

Album performed by the 'Soviet Army Chorus & Band "(Orchestra and Chorus of the Soviet Army), under the general and artistic direction of Boris Alexandrov (1905-1994), composer, arranger, conductor, music critic, artist and professor of immense prestige in military music in his country. With him also collaborate as music director Vladimir Alexandrov and Konstantin Vinogradov as chorus director.

The word ‘legend’ is thrown about so nonchalantly these days that it’s lost a great deal of its shine. But there are still some artists for whom the word is far too feeble. Not many. But Carole King is definitely one of them. Ms. King is one of the truly indelible voices of rock and roll. In the 1960s, along with one time husband Gerry Goffin, she penned a string of unforgettable hits for other artists that reads like a roster of some of the best pop/rock tunes ever recorded: “Chains”, “The Locomotion”, “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman”, “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” and “Up on the Roof” are just a few. In the 70s, with some encouragement, she decided to put some of her songs to record herself.

Heavy psych classic with warm dusty basement sound with HEAVY bass and great acid psych guitar work of premium quality. An extremely rare and previously unreleased 1969/1970 heavy psychedelic album . It was recorded in the Cavern Sound Studio, Missouri. The opening cut, End Of The Page, has a lovely guitar intro and the other highlight is the lengthy Let's Go To The Sea, which features some great Hendrix' psychedelic guitar work. The remainder of the album comprises harder edged rock cuts, their own interpretation of Stormy Monday and Hooked, which is the best moment on the album vocally. Worth checking out. The band hailed from the Kansas/Missouri area.

Soul Doctor is the band led by former Fair Warning vocalist Tommy Heart. Well comparison with Fair Warning make no sense. Well Fair Warning is closer to Survivor, Journey but Soul Doctor is straight American rock'n roll maybe Mr.Big or Whitesnake vain.

Released in 1968 by a group of Oberlin College students and pressed in very limited numbers (i.e. 500 copies), 24 Hours is a blend of folk, blues, jazz and eastern psychedelia. Songs on the album explode with originality, with meditative pieces like Pale Shades Of Gray and it's eerily beautiful melody or Elaborations, a lengthy raga-ish instrumental with some very effective flute. Just one look at the tripped out psychedelic cover is enough to guarantee that the music contained within the confines of this album is a mind blowing artifact of the 60's counterculture. Comes with faithfully reproduced original graphics as well as liner notes and photos detailing the short lived but amazing story of Ant Trip Ceremony.
