I'm not a big fan of post-Soft Machine/Ninesense Elton Dean, generally, since his free blowing requires more patience than I have. But he is in fine (and restrained) form on this album. Keith Tippett is also very good. The music here is in the Coltrane vein.
Kalevi Aho (born 1949) belongs the currently reigning generation of Finnish composers who came of age in the early 1970s in a cultural atmosphere that repudiated certain hitherto dominant musical tendencies, the chief of them being that serialism alone conferred esthetic legitimacy on a composition. Isang Yun's second symphony was composed in 1984 and first performed by Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin conducted by Jesus Lopez-Cobos. Its orchestral setting is smaller than first symphony. Yun used Yin(Dark) and Yang(Light) conception in this symphony. For example, strings and woodwinds are light and angelic dimension. In contrast, brass and percussions are dark and demonic dimension. Jason Scheff replaced Peter Cetera in 1985 to join the group "Chicago" as their tenor lead vocalist and bass player. In 1997 Jason released his first solo effort, Chauncy. All the songs on this album were the best Scheff had that hadn't been released yet so he decided to make somewhat of an *art project*. Purposely avoiding the grand production of the times he kept things much more sparse to let the songs speak for themselves.
On most informed lists of rock & roll villains, the Crew Cuts would have to rank near the top. They weren't rock & rollers in the first place: their clean-cut white harmony glee club approach was really in the style of early- and mid-'50s groups such as the Four Aces, the Four Lads, and the Four Freshmen. The Canadian quartet differed from those acts, however, in their concentration upon covers of songs originally recorded by R&B/doo wop vocal groups.

Millenium is a Polish five-piece neo-progressive band with Polish vocals on their 1st album and English vocals dominating after their 2nd production, generally in the Pendragon and early MarIllion styles but also with some spices of Pink Floyd and classical Genesis. There are influences of older Polish bands like Collage (as you can in every Polish neo-prog band).
Fotoplay (1999). Quantum Leap is the project of dutch producer Martin Oude Kempers, also known as DJ CroII in the dutch underground. His Detroit- esque album Fotoplay is definitely one of the most versatile albums on Elektrolux so far.
Redsun (2000). With Martin's album Redsun, he follows the path of his first longplayer Fotoplay and the Telstar-12” also released on Elektrolux. Covered here is a wide ranging selection from MInimal Techno to Downbeats, ensuring club compatibility as well as musical depth.

There's hits on the 1979 New Values: 'New Values' 'Girls' 'I'm Bored' 'Five Foot One' 'African Man' and 'Billy is a Runaway' and on the 1980 Soldier 'Knockin' 'em Down in the City' 'Playin' It Safe' 'Dog Food' 'I Need More''Take Care of Me' 'I Snub You' and possibly the best of these, 'I'm a Conservative'. Oddly, at least to me, given how excellent these songs are, he pretty much only does 'Dog Food' over the years live. I happened to see him in 1979 at the Catamaran hotel in San Diego. He blasted out all the hits from New Values and he was spectacular. There was a stripper's pole on the stage and he used it like he was born on it.
