The Poet is a 1981 album by Bobby Womack. The album reached the top of the Billboard Top Black Albums chart due to the success of the single "If You Think You're Lonely Now", which peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.

Sacramento hard rockers Tesla were always outliers in the glam and pop metal scene of the late '80s. They had been experimenting with acoustic songs since their first album, 1986's Mechanical Resonance, and offered up a more honest and simply presented version of the era's blazing guitar anthems than their lipsticked, spandexed contemporaries. Despite a six-year break in the late '90s, they've also managed to stick around, releasing decent studio and live albums throughout the 2000s.

Riding a wave of popularity that has reached every corner of the genre and shows no signs of letting up, Brown has also garnered massive respect among his peers throughout his cool career. In fact, several jazz luminaries appear as contributors on this slick project (trumpeter Greg Adams, saxmen Greg Vail, Dave Koz, Najee (appearing on flute), Darren Rahn, Euge Groove, and Richard Elliot; keyboardist Bob Baldwin (who also appears on drums on the track where he’s featured), fellow guitarist Larry Carlton, and the late wonderful drummer Ricky Lawson, just to name a few of those having a party on this album.

Trumpeter and world-music pioneer Don Cherry had a very special relationship with Sweden, a place he called home for twenty years. And Sweden had a special relationship with Cherry: the country and its musicians recognized the master in their midst, and in 1972 the state-subsidized record company Caprice put out the double album Organic Music Society (which they reissued in 2012). Now with Live in Stockholm, Caprice has gone into its vaults and pulled out three stunning long-form songs from the same era.

The four world capitals of fashion - Paris, London, New York and Milan - also have their very own musical sound. Occasion for the label Wagram, together on four CDs a kind of soundtrack to the fashion capitals.

With Eyes Of The Heart, musician’s musician Keith Jarrett landed one of his last American Quartet flights. This live performance, recorded just one month after The Survivors’ Suite, is a journey of a rather different stripe. Jarrett whoops with delight as he opens Part One in a delicate congregation of drums. The kalimba-like bass of Charlie Haden hops from one foot to another as Jarrett looses a soprano sax into the prevailing winds. Only later does the expected piano shine through his fingertips.

Michal Wojtas is a highly talented multi-instrumentalist and a dedicated fan of Mike Oldfield. That's why he gave this name to his band project. Influences from that famous paragon cannot be totally denied neither in his playing style nor in the kind of music offered here on their debut album. Most of the tracks are pure instrumental and up to a considerable proportion more in an acoustic vein. There are occasionally very pleasant female vocals. Especially instruments like piano, violin and flute are providing a nice symphonic atmosphere.

Tre Fontane, an ensemble of young performing musicians from Southern France, land of the troubadours, whose music they have explored extensively, have devoted the present recording to the major French Ars Nova composer Guillaume de Machaut, and leading Italian composers of the trecento, using the Codex Faenza as a central reference. Most of the time they remain fairly close to the Faenza variations on the vocal originals, with occasional extemporization.
