Ray Obiedo (as guitarist) and Norbert Stachel (playing tenor sax as part of the Tower of Power horns) help turn the throbbing retro-soul meets Memphis-flavored soul jam "Horn-afication" into one of the most memorable cuts on keyboardist Roger Smith's Consider This. Smith begins with the moody undercurrent of the Hammond B-3 beneath the bright, percussive brass, then keeps that brooding texture going beneath a call and response between the horns and his happy-go-lucky keyboard melody.

It was re-released in 2001 under the title SINISTER without the bonus tracks but with a different cover. Argentinean pianist, arranger, and composer Adrián Iaies got involved in the jazz fusion scene in the mid-'80s when the talented musician formed a band called Touch, recording Ventanilla 16, released by Cirse Records in 1989, and La Lluvia es Sagrada, made in one session on May 26, 1993. That same year, Adrián Iaies created a project called Adrián Iaies Trío, issuing Nostalgias y Otros Vicios in 1998 and Grammy-nominated Las Tardecitas de Minton's in 1999. Later, concentrating on a solo piano record called Una Modica Plenitud. In the year 2000, after performing at New York's Brazilian-Argentinean Jazz Festival, Adrián Iaies moved to Barcelona, Spain, to make Tango Reflections.

The Movie Album is a career aspiration come true for Till Bronner, a record he's desired to make for more than a decade. His themes from Hollywood movies, classic and contemporary (with a TV theme thrown in), make this more a pop-jazz record than one for cinephiles. Co-produced by the artist and guitarist Chuck Loeb, most of the set was recorded at Hollywood's East West Studios with a crack band of studio aces, with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester's parts recorded in Berlin.
