The Alan Parsons Project rarely toured or played live, but the energy, atmosphere, and compelling flow that surrounds The Very Best Live proves that the band's stage presence seemed to come naturally. Recorded during a 1994 European tour, each of these songs is performed unchanged and untainted, which automatically makes for a pleasing live album. Some of the more ear-catching tracks include a riveting version of "The Raven," with Parsons using the voice vocoder exactly as he did on Tales of Mystery and Imagination, and "Don't Answer Me," featuring some truly electrifying saxophone from Richard Cottle. Other peak moments on the album include "Luciferama," a unique version of "Lucifer" (from the Eve LP) with an ending that contains hints of the instrumental "Mammagamma," and a rich rendition of "Eye in the Sky," completely true to form.

Since his work with LA 1919, which burst onto the Italian underground scene with a stimulating punk sound that seemed to oscillate between no wave and RIO, guitarist Luciano Margorani (b/g/noise) has created genre-free experimental music through collaborations with renowned artists such as Henry Kaiser, Ferdinand Richard, Charles Hayward, and Fausto Rossi, as well as through his solo work. Dario D'Alessandro (keyboards/vocals/g/glockenspiel), a multi-instrumentalist recognized as the frontman of the popular Italian band Homunculus Res, whose sound encompasses Canterbury music, Recommendation, and modern psychedelia, and Chris, renowned drummer and a figurehead in the world of Recommendation and avant-rock, also appear on the album.

Switzerland's best symphonic prog band of any consequence, Flame Dream released its third album, Out In The Dark, in 1981. Recorded at Patrick Moraz's legendary "Aquarius" studio in Geneva and surpassing 1979's excellent Elements, it is a classic of European progressive rock. Amazingly, in continental Europe, brilliant, classic progressive rock music was still being produced with little regard for the prevailing winds of disco, new wave and punk. Flame Dream had hit it big in Europe with release of Elements. The music on Out In The Dark continues in the same vein as on their preceding albums, with rich, keyboard heavy compositions by vocalist/wind instrument player Peter Wolf (son of the noted Swiss classical pianist and brother of classical/avant-garde composer and pianist John Wolf-Brennan) and keyboardist Roland Rockstuhl.

A collection of R&B works of legendary guitarist. Jimmy Page is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band Led Zeppelin. Page began his career as a studio session musician in London and, by the mid-1960s, had become the most sought-after session guitarist in England. He was a member of the Yardbirds from 1966 to 1968. In late 1968, he founded Led Zeppelin.

Unlike either its predecessor Alone in the Universe or 2001's Zoom, From out of Nowhere didn't appear after a prolonged period of silence from Jeff Lynne's ELO. It arrived in November of 2019, nearly exactly four years after Alone in the Universe, a rapid turnaround that recalls Lynne's work schedule as a bandleader and producer in the 1970s and '80s. That's not the only way From out of Nowhere conjures memories of the past. From the spaceship hovering on its record cover to the song title "Sci-Fi Woman" stirring up the ghost of "Evil Woman," the album is designed to sound and feel like an Electric Light Orchestra album from the late 1970s.
