A wonderful performance of Mahler's 4th Symphony conducted by Iván Fischer featuring Swedish soprano Miah Persson. "There is a unique purity and transparency in Mahler's 4th Symphony. The enchanting sleigh bells take us to his inner child, to his dreams of angels, fairy tales, angst and pure, divine love. This child-like symphony needed a different orchestra: no dark tuba, no heavy trombones, no large arsenal of massive brass. A chamber orchestra in fact, where the clarinets act as mock trumpets, the solo violin tunes his strings sharper in order to scare us and the lightness of the whole orchestra lifts us up to his lovely, childish vision of paradise."

MCA picked up Teenage Head and tried to market them to the American audience - biggest example was the adding of an 'S' to the band's name to appease those who were trying to clean up rock & roll. 1983's TORNADO was a 6 track EP which made Head-fanatics cringe. Their previous image of 'party til you puke punks' now more closely resembled a group of Potsy Webbers - just not as cool. Featuring production work by David Bendeth, who'd filled in here and there in various capacities over the years, label execs tried to gear the rockabilly-twinged record to the college yuppies .

Brainbox was a Dutch rock group from the late 1960s/early 1970s. It was founded in Amsterdam by guitarist Jan Akkerman, drummer Pierre van der Linden and singer Kazimir Lux (Kaz). Their debut single was "Down Man", which established their progressive blues sound. They had several hit singles in the Netherlands, including "Between Alpha and Omega", "Doomsday Train", Reason to Believe and "Smile". Soon after they released their first album, Akkerman and van der Linden left the group to join Focus.
