With their second album “Realize!” Three Fall now give their fans something new to enjoy. Nobody else plays like Three Fall, not because they want to be different, but because they are. Young German jazz is in a very healthy state, and of the most extraordinary examples is the trio Three Fall. They caused a furore with debut album “On a Walkabout”, and Trombone Shorty, who the trio supported on his German tour, found them 'unique'. The Westdeutsche Zeitung newspaper called them 'refreshingly different' and the Heilbronner Stimme discovered in them 'programme music for people who don't believe in boundaries'.

Paier and Valcic’s music is daring and full of curiosity, they present us with a road movie beyond convention that is full of layers and colours. “Silk Road” still maintains a unique and homogenous sound created by two adventurous explorers, who both fully master their instruments whilst complementing each other perfectly. Like so often, it took a long time to form something that nowadays seems destined to be together. It began twelve years ago, when Austrian accordionist Klaus Paier assembled a string quartet for one of his projects, and these four went on to become the radio.string.quartet.vienna.

Russian Revolutionaries: Ewald & Böhme marks both the centenary of the 1917 Russian Revolution and the launch of period instrument ensemble The Prince Regents Bands survey of late-nineteenth- and early-twentieth century Russian brass chamber music.

Founded in 2009, Cammerata bring us for their debut album an exploration of the string orchestra repertoire, in a path from the 18th century to the present day, joined by viola soloist Joaquín Riquelme -member of the Berlin Phiharmonic- in the first recording of Salvador Brotons’s Concerto op. 106. Händel’s Concerto grosso op. 6/12 and Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece Serenade op. 48 are also included in this stunning album, passionately performed by this young generation of Spanish musicians.

Following his 2001 disc of works by Arne Nordheim, Norwegian violinist Peter Herresthal and BIS have collaborated on the project ’A String of Releases’ – recordings of contemporary violin concertos, in several cases written especially for Herresthal. Featured composers so far have been Olav Anton Thommessen, Henrik Hellstenius and Ørjan Matre – all from Norway – as well as Thomas Adès and Per Nørgård. Utterly fearless in his approach to these complex works, Herresthal has received recognition for his recordings, earning a Spellemannprisen (the ‘Norwegian Grammy’) as well as being shortlisted for a Gramophone Award.

Great-grandson of composer Jean Sibelius, Lauri Porra began playing the cello at the age of six, but later switched to bass guitar. In addition to his work as a composer for orchestra, film and media, he is a member of the heavy metal band Stratovarius with which he has recorded four albums and performed concerts in over 60 countries. Highly versatile, Porra also leads his own Lauri Porra Flyover Ensemble, combining musical styles ranging from rock and jazz to classical, electronic and film music.

Blagoje Bersa was a major figure in Croatian musical life, his compositions a compound of Mediterranean, Central European and Balkan elements. His piano music, of which this recording is Volume 1, reveals a rich diversity drawn from Classical and Romantic models, encompassing charming Chopinesque barcarolles, a melancholic Notturno, a stirring Liszt-inspired Fantaisie-Impromptu, beautiful balletic miniatures and the Brahmsian grandeur of the powerfully conceived Sonata in F minor.
