Colourgrade follows on from 2018’s immediate cult classic LP, Devotion. It forms a subconscious snapshot from across a year when Tirzah was playing live regularly for the first time, in the depths of promoting Devotion and recorded soon after the birth of her first child and shortly before her second child was born.

Georgia Blue is a labor of love. On election day 2020, when I saw that there was a good chance the state of Georgia might go blue, I came up with an idea: to record an album of Georgia-related songs as a thank you to the state and donate the money to a Georgia based non-profit organization.

City of Mirrors is a bold new collection of music from Chicago-based alt-Latinx band Dos Santos, which is comprised of bandleader / singer / lyricst / guitarist / keyboardist Alex Chavez, drummer Daniel Villarreal, percussionist Peter “Maestro” Vale, bassist Jaime Garza, and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Nathan Karagianis. Cinematic in its journey, the album was produced by multimedia artist and long-time friend of the band Elliot Bergman (NOMO, Wild Belle), and reflects sounds from across the Americas combined with Chavez’s compelling poetic narratives.

When Montreal singer-songwriter Béatrice Martin, aka Cœur de pirate, underwent vocal cord surgery in early 2021, she didn’t know if she’d ever be able to sing again. During her recovery, she recorded and released the instrumental album Perséides, which saw her lean hard on her trusty musical companion, the piano.

Blancmange are set to release a new album, Commercial Break - their 14th - which explores acoustic textures and field recordings within their synthesiser exoskeleton. January 1969 – The Beatles planned to return to live performance, setting up in Twickenham Film Studios, London, for 21 days of rehearsals. They then decamped to their new studio in their Apple office building in Saville Row and on January 30th performed their last ever live group performance on the rooftop. All of this was filmed for a proposed documentary (eventually released in 1970).

Dinah! is a 1956 album by blues, R&B and jazz singer Dinah Washington released on the EmArcy label. The album includes a mix of jazz, popular and blues standards of the period, all selected to emphasize the vocalist's style.

The present release is a commemorative edition of two albums by the pianist Claudette Sorel featuring selected works for solo piano and three American piano concertos.

"Blowin’ The Blues Away" is widely considered of Silver’s definitive albums. In full stride, Silver is joined by his classic quintet, which includes trumpeter Blue Mitchell, tenor saxophonist Junior Cook, bassist Eugene Taylor and drummer Louis Hayes. It features some of Silver’s finest compositions including “Peace” and “Sister Sadie”. Absolutely riveting.

The piano-less quartet fronted by Chet Baker and Gerry Mulligan proved to be enormously influential and set the groundwork for many other groups.

Let’s do a time warp back to 1937 for the very first recordings made under His Master’s Voice. This rendition of Beethoven’s ninth symphony with the Berliner Philharmoniker marks Wilhelm Furtwängler’s debut for the label, and was recorded live from London during the festivities preceding George VI’s coronation.
