Eisbrecher ( German for Icebreaker) is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band that consists primarily of Alexander Wesselsky (vocals) and Noel Pix (lead guitar/programming), with live support from Jürgen Plangger (guitar), Dominik Palmer (bass), Achim Färber (drums). In the United States and Canada, their record label is currently Metropolis Records. The band's lyrics and slogans often include terms of ice and sailing, such as "Ahoi" ("Ahoy") and "Es wird kalt" ("It's getting cold"); vocalist Alexander Wesselsky often wears naval and military clothing in performances.

Pianist Red Garland recorded many sets in the late 1950s and early '60s, often (as in this case) with bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Art Taylor. Despite the LP length of this CD reissue (under 35 minutes), this is a particularly strong example of Garland's talents. His block chords are distinctive, as is his use of space, and the music always swings. The trio sounds in top form on "I Can't See For Looking," George Gershwin's "Soon," "Blackout" and a driving version of the classic blues "Castle Rock." Recommended.

She delivers the sounds of the ancient 7th century instrument with authority and grace while managing to infuse elements of jazz, pop, new age, and world music into her mesmerizing compositions.

Manau in turn made their commercial recording debut in 1998 with the single "La Tribu de Dana," a Celtic rap song whose catchy refrain is an interpolation of the melody from Alan Stivell's 1971 rendition of the Breton folk standard "Tri Martolod." One of the biggest hits of 1998, "La Tribu de Dana" topped the French singles chart for 12 consecutive weeks and spent 23 weeks overall in the Top Three. In the wake of this breakout success, Manau made their full-length album debut with Panique Celtique (1998), which topped the albums chart and spawned a series of follow-up singles including the chart-topping hit "Mais Qui Est la Belette?," the Top Ten hit "Panique Celtique," the Top 30 hit "L'Avenir Est un Long Passé," and the Top 40 hit "La Confession."
