Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968, generally regarded as one of the archetypal bands and pioneers of the genre. The shortened name and current line-up (Jouni Hynynen, Jari Sinkkonen, Janne Hongisto) was established in 1997 when Aki Virtanen left the band. Kotiteollisuus is said to combine “furious heavy metal with Finnish sullenness”. Subjects frequently touched upon in songs are the current state of the nation, religion and mankind in general. The band members have become known for their outspokenness during interviews and shows. Especially guitarist-vocalist Jouni Hynynen is known for heckling and commenting on the audience during live shows.

By the early '70s, Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye were in completely different creative territories.
