Matsui's major label debut combines everything from chamber like organ effects ("The Ruins of Sonora") to punchy sax driven pop ("Mountain Shakedown") to orchestral film score sweeps ("The Gate") in expanding her palette further beyond Eastern sounds. Poetic, image laden pieces dominate, but her chops as a keyboardist are tested on more exotic solos. It's another all star affair, with Eric Marienthal, Brandon Fields, Robben Ford, Abe Laboriel, Paul Jackson, Jr. and Grant Geissman pushing Matsui into the big leagues of pop jazz. There's even a slight Latin excursion. The vocals this time are handled by Howard Smith and Phyllis St. James.

On October 16 was released The Greatest Singer-Songwriter Hits Vol. 2. This double CD is the successor to the very successful first part, which appeared last February and was several weeks at the top spot of the album chart. As to the first part this album again contains the greatest hits of the popular singer-songwriters of our time, in combination with some big names / hits from the past decade.

Twenty-eight years and eleven full length albums into their career, flagship Hellenic black metal band Rotting Christ unleash Lucifer Over Athens, their second live album. Founded in 1987 by brothers Sakis and Themis Tolis along with Jim Mutilator, also known for his work with Varathron, Rotting Christ was one of the first Greek black metal bands and were the forerunners of that classic, theatrical Hellenic sound…

As Far As I Can See… is the fourth studio album by the British rock band the Zombies, and their first since 1991. Billed as "The Zombies" but it's actually Blunstone and Argent again. Joining Blunstone and Argent in the studio for As Far As I Can See… was a band that consisted of longtime friend Jim Rodford, his son Steve, and guitarist Keith Airey. Original Zombie member Chris White contributed also background vocals and Paul Atkinson championed the album shortly before his death from liver and kidney.

This double disc CD brings together two versions of The Misunderstood – the classic 60’s psychedelic band (their immortal tracks being found on the CD ‘Before The Dream Faded’ which was nicely reviewed by the Seth Man). Disc 1 entitled ‘The Legendary Gold Star Album’ presents the bluesy songs the band recorded in California in 1966 under the production of the late great John Peel who discovered the band while he was over in the USA. The collection is well presented and is reminiscent of the tracks presented after the classic six psychedelic songs on ‘Before The Dream Faded’, but they have a slightly clearer sound here as they’re taken from an acetate and the quality partialy 'restored'. Rick Brown’s voice is excellent on these tracks, sounding not unlike a cross between Jim and Van Morrison, he eases through classic blues tracks ‘You Don’t Have to Go Out’ and ‘Who’s Been Talkin’ (tracks which appear on ‘Before the Dream Faded’).
