"A Safe Look In Mirrors" continues in the same musical territory as "Vague Visions"; solid heavy metal. The band sports a galloping metal sound that is both heavy and melodic at the same time. Once again guitarist, Benny Petersen, lets loose some raging guitar solos, Brian Rich's vocals are powerful, and the song writing is strong and memorable. Rich's vocals with Jackal and Narita are like Tate's vocals with Queensryche, or Dickinson with Maiden.

While David Linx's name may not be writ large here in the States, the fifty-one year-old singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist is a mega-star in his native Belgium, and in 2005 was named Best Jazz Musician in Europe, which covers a whole lot of territory. On Brel, Linx sings music composed by his Belgian forerunner, the late and legendary Jacques Brel, accompanied by the world-class Brussels Jazz Orchestra (whose personnel are not listed on the bare-bones promotional copy save for saxophonist / music director Frank Vaganee)…

Dreamtide features the guitarist and chief songwriter from Fair Warning - Helge Engelke, along with he fellow band mates Torsten Luderwald (keyboards) and drummer C.C. Behrens. The Well is twenty seventh studio album by American blues singer and harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite. It was released in August 2010. It was his first release on Alligator Records label since 1993 album In My Time. In the title song he credits Jessica McClure's ordeal as a child trapped in a well for over 58 hours in 1987 for inspiring him to quit drinking, stating.

Good reviews can kill a band, particularly if they arrive before they've ever released a record. That essentially happened to Symposium, who was labeled the "best live band in Britain" by the weeklies at the tail end of Britpop – the handful of days before OK Computer and Urban Hymns replaced Parklife and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? as the template for modern British pop.

They really enjoyed this one!If you listen carefully at the end of a particularly convincing rendition of LTIA Pt.II you can hear the excitement (or perhaps relief?) of the band at the end of the gig as they congratulate each other and decide to do yet another encore! Thanks to the vagaries of this soundboard mix we get a close-up view of Fripp’s fingerwork on the ever-so-slightly incomplete opener, Discipline. It’s a claustrophobic mix that initially largely excludes the bass and drums (quite a feat when you think about it) but thankfully widens out as the set progresses.

JSP's Shake That Thing: East Coast Blues compiles four CD's of performances by country blues pickers Gabriel Brown, Dan Pickett, and Ralph Willis. It's hard to go wrong with these 105 obscure recordings cut between 1935 and 1953. The tracks have been remastered, making the majority of this material sound great. Unlike other packages of this type, the liner notes are informative; listing personnel, dates, and concise history without going on ad nauseam. As an extra bonus this is a budget-priced set making it highly recommended, for both the collector and the blues novice
