Petr Weigl's beautiful film evokes superbly this most atmospheric of opera, while Sir Georg Solti captures both the passion and subtlety of Tchaikowsky's magnificent score. The golden-voiced Teresa Kubiak sing the innocent Tatyana, Stuart Burrows is the ill-fated Lensky, and Bernd Weikl is Eugene Onegin, whose arrival is destined to change everybody's lives.

Ace Spectrum was an R&B, soul and disco musical group that was popular in the mid-1970s. Based in New York City the group consisted of Rudy Gay Sr., Elliot Isaac, Henry "Easy" Zant, Aubrey "Troy" Johnson, and, on their final album, Frederick G. Duff and Lawrence Coley. Zant, (also known as Edward "Easy" Zant), was not only a member but he also managed the group. Gay, Isaac, Zant and Johnson began collaboration as a group in 1966. Don't Send Nobody Else, written by Ashford & Simpson, was their biggest single. From their Tony Sylvester-produced debut album, it peaked at #57 on Billboard's Hot 100 while finding its way to the Top 20 on the R&B Singles chart. Their single Keep Holdin' On was released as a 12-inch single, and heavily promoted by their record label at disco clubs. Another single Live And Learn with lead vocals by Frederick, reached position #35 on the Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart. Their first two albums saw chart action. "Inner Spectrum" attained position #28 on the R&B Albums chart, and "Low Rent Rendezvous" saw action on the Billboard 200 (#138), as well as on R&B Albums (#35). Patrick Adams produced and arranged the group's 1976 recordings, but consequential success eluded them.

The Dubhlinn Gardens: an evening in the high society of 18th century Dublin, where traditional music was ‘civilising’ itself for the salon… This programme was inspired by the passion for traditional Irish music that flautist Anna Besson has felt since she was a child. Surprising as it may seem, it was playing the Irish flute that led her to study the baroque instrument… For the past few years Reinoud Van Mechelen too has begun to train himself in the traditional Irish song with Karan Casey and other singers who have specialised in the unaccompanied Sean-nós. This twofold practice of early as well as traditional music has led the ensemble A Nocte Temporis to offer a programme that is both vivacious and extremely touching.

"Thelma Houston" is the 2nd album by American Soul and R&B singer Thelma Houston, recorded in 1972. The album includes the single, "Me and Bobby McGee". This is her first album recorded with Motown Records under the Mowest label. The album was arranged by Artie Butler, Michael Omartian, Gene Page, James Anthony Carmichael and John Myles. Two versions of the album were issued, a ten track version in the US in 1972 and a fourteen track version in the UK and Germany in 1973. The album was later reissued on CD in an expanded edition by Soulmusic Records in 2012.

Staircase is Keith Jarrett’s fourth solo piano album for ECM, and his first after the previous year’s Köln Concert. In contrast to his earlier studio effort, Facing You, Jarrett elides romantic titles in favor of four singly marked suites in this entirely improvised studio session. Like every carefully chosen word of a William Carlos Williams verse, Jarrett’s equally lyrical insights plough to the heart of the matter like no others. The title work gives special insight into the pianist’s improvisational process. Atop a foundation of steady syncopation, he constructs a helical tower. Rather than expanding it into a broader sound palette, however, he works his way into every crevice.

A multi-talented producer of music for films, television, and video games, Iranian-German composer Ramin Djawadi honed his considerable talents alongside contemporaries like Klaus Badelt, John Debney, Harry Gregson-Williams, and Steve Jablonsky while working for veteran composer Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions film score company. He worked as an assistant to Badelt before venturing out on his own with the RZA-assisted score for director David Goyer's Blade: Trinity (2004). Djawadi continued to work with Goyer, providing music for both film (The Unborn) and television (FlashForward), earning an Emmy nomination for the latter.

Piergiuseppe Zaia is an Italian Director, Writer, Producer and Composer. At the age of four, he began studying piano and singing, under the tutelage of Maestro L. Mortarino, as well as participating in and winning many Nationwide contests. Aged just ten years old, Zaia was admitted into the Conservatorio A. Vivaldi in Alessandria, where he continued piano studies with renowned pianists, such as Maestros Audino and Vercillo.

Road Trips Volume 4 Number 2 is a live album by the rock band the Grateful Dead. The 14th of the Road Trips series of archival releases, it was recorded on March 31 and April 1, 1988, at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It was released as a three disc CD on February 1, 2011. Road Trips Volume 4 Number 2, subtitled April Fools' '88, includes the complete April 1 concert, along with the second set, encore, and two songs from the first set of the March 31 concert. It was only the second live Dead album that was recorded in 1988; the first was Grateful Dead Download Series Volume 5.The April 1 performance of Bob Dylan's "Ballad of a Thin Man" had been previously released on Postcards of the Hanging.

The very first ECM release (which has been reissued on CD), this trio set features pianist Mal Waldron, bassist Isla Eckinger and drummer Clarence Becton improvising quite freely on five of Waldron's compositions plus "Willow Weep For Me." The music overall is not that memorable or unique but it does have its unpredictable moments and finds Waldron really stretching himself.

Road Trips Volume 4 Number 1 is a live album by the rock band the Grateful Dead. The 13th of the Road Trips series of archival releases, it contains two complete performances by the band, recorded on May 23 and 24, 1969. It was released as a three-disc CD on November 16, 2010. Road Trips Volume 4 Number 1 is subtitled Big Rock Pow-Wow '69. It was recorded at a rock festival called the Big Rock Pow-Wow, which took place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 23, 24, and 25, 1969, at the Hollywood Seminole Indian Reservation in West Hollywood, Florida. Other artists who performed at the festival included Johnny Winter, Sweetwater, Joe South, Aum, NRBQ, Rhinoceros, Muddy Waters, and the Youngbloods. At the end of the Saturday night concert, Timothy Leary spoke from the stage.

Hailed from Toronto, Canada and recorded this only album at Bearsville in Woodstock in 1971. The album was engineered and produced by Todd Rundgren. In some sense, they remind of famous major acts such as David Clayton Thomas and The Band. It is a nicely arranged blues rock, country rock with a bit of psychedelic mood.

Throughout his career, Sergei Prokofiev wrote a large number of works for the stage – some of them highly successful, others less so. Whichever the case, Prokofiev would rarely miss the opportunity of recycling the score in one way or another – staying more or less close to the original in an orchestral suite or using it as material for a completely new work, such as the Third and Fourth symphonies (based on the ballet The Prodigal Son and the opera The Fiery Angel, respectively.)
