Algiers return in 2020 with third album There Is No Year, on Matador Records. There is No Year solidifies and expands upon the doom-laden soul of their foundation, toward an even more epic, genre-reformatting sound, one somehow suspended in the amber of “a different era,” as described by guitarist Lee Tesche.

Trumpeter and Innovator Christian Scott delivers the final part of his 2017 Jazz Centennial trilogy with Emancipation Procrastination. This album reflects the Social and Political issues of our times, delivering healing. The title track is a beautiful mid tempo piece on which Scott and his band play haunting melodies.

A collection drawn from Peggy Lee's two lengthy stints with Capitol Records and from the time she recorded for Decca Records in between, this generous disc includes the 1948 smash "Manana," "Golden Earrings," "Don't Smoke in Bed," and her definitive, sultry version of "Fever." The end result is a nice introduction to this wonderfully vibrant and nuanced singer that brings her work for both labels together, and the difference in quality is negligible. It's a nice place to start.

Formed in 1994, Nodo Gordiano experimental rock project quickly earned a reputation as one of the most peculiar acts to emerge from Rome independent scene. After two years of activity as progressive rock cover band (specialized in the repertoires of King Crimson, Genesis and Banco) the projects acquires a new awareness, deciding to concentrate its efforts in the search of a specific creative identity.
The group’s complex and dynamic sound along with their resonating live performances helped the band quickly rise to prominence in late 90s. Following the release of their self named album in 1999, they took to the road making appearances at multiple festivals playing along some of their heroes (John Wetton, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso) and promoting their own creations…

In the roaring 70s Red Hills Road in St Andrew played host to an endless number of night clubs and was the acknowledged hip strip for city Kingston. In fact, two of Jamaica’s musical legends trace their genesis to Red Hills Road and the clubs with unforgettable names, which were the hub for live bands.

The Pixies are associated with the 1990s alternative rock boom, and draw on elements including punk rock and surf rock. Their music is known for its dynamic "loud-quiet" shifts and song structures. Francis is the Pixies' primary songwriter; his often surreal lyrics cover offbeat subjects such as extraterrestrials, incest, and biblical violence. They achieved modest popularity in the US, but were more successful in Europe. Their jarring pop sound influenced acts such as Nirvana, Radiohead, the Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer. Their popularity grew in the years after their break-up, leading to sold-out world tours following their reunion in 2004.

The Final Separation is the second album by the Italian thrash/black metal band Bulldozer, released in February 1986. “The final separation” is a devastating follow-up to their cult debut “The day of wrath” that adds a strong Speed/Thrash Metal vibe to their well-tested Black Metal meets dirty R’n’R tinged aggression! All in all, this is another good confirm of the goodness of the Bulldozer’s sound back in the 80s and it’s good to recommend it to the old school fans of this lethal black/speed combination. For all its length, the nastiness of the speed metal and the brutal influences of bands like VENOM and MOTÖRHEAD collide to create another high impact effort, in pure 80s style!! RIDE HARD… DIE FAST!!

Metalizer is the third full-length release by Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton, but was actually recorded as their professional debut album (second overall) in 2002. The band's first record company, Underground Symphony, withheld the recordings for several years before arranging to release the rights to the band's new label Black Lodge Records. The band's first album, the demo compilation Fist for Fight, is included as a bonus disc with a previously unreleased track. Most of the tracks on the first disc are re-recordings from this release.

Italian-American singer, actor, songwriter, bandleader, and trumpeter, Louis Prima (1910-1978) was rooted in New Orleans jazz, swing, and jump blues, but he touched on various other genres throughout his career. From the 1940s through the 1960s, when these recordings were made, his music further encompassed early R&B, rock'n'roll, boogie-woogie, and even Italian folk music, such as the tarantella. In 1954 Prima was offered a long-term engagement at The Sahara in Las Vegas to open his new act with singer Keely Smith (born in 1928, she is 89 at this writing). He enlisted New Orleans saxophonist Sam Butera (1927-2009) and his backing musicians, ''The Witnesses''. The act was a hit, and ultimately led Prima to sign with Capitol Records in 1955. The present concert performance at The Sahara, immortalized on the LP Las Vegas Prima Style (Capitol Records - T-1010), was taped by Prima in 1958 with Keely and Butera, and is presented here in its entirety.
