On the one hand, you know exactly what you’re going to get with Flotsam and Jetsam. After all, they’ve been grinding this axe for a long time (their debut was in 1986). However, so driven and so ‘on fire’ are the band at the moment, there are still surprises up their sleeves. What isn’t a surprise is that Blood in the Water is a kick-ass slab of thrash and speed metal. Everything great about this long-surviving band and then some.
It starts so strongly with the absolute inferno of head-banging heaviness that is the title track, the blistering speed of Burn the Sky and the meaty scowl and growl of Brace for Impact. Ray's choice of material again borrows from a wide musical palette and we are treated to fine performances of jazz originals, standard ballads, a folk tune and a recent Rock 'n Roll hit. The title tune, Lonesome Traveler, is a fitting follow-up to Gotta Travel On of the previous Cadet album. If someone can be lonesome and happy at the same time, then this condition must apply to Ray; because there's nothing lonesome sounding about the joyful groove he and his companions achieve on this track.

Michel Lambert was the first French musician to compose a cycle in 1662, quickly followed by Charpentier and Lalande. But the most famous - and the first to have attracted the public of today and to be recorded - are those of François Couperin, dated 1714.

The Musea label and the Finnish magazine Colossus endlessly continue their quest for the greatest universal themes, in order to complete their collection of concept-albums dedicated to Progressive rock. The hero of the day is Dante Alighieri, the famous medieval author from Firenze who wrote "The Divine Comedy". That's precisely this epic piece of work, without a doubt one of the greatest books of all times, that serves as the basis for this project. And of course, it has been divided in three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso.
The second part, Purgatorio, deals with the poet’s journey through Purgatory, the abode of penitent souls waiting to ascend to heaven after having being purged of their earthly sins. The set comprises 36 tracks spread over 4 CDs, for a total of 35 bands and artists from a wide range of countries…
