Japanese re-issue. Part of the 'Blue Note More 60 Works' campaign. Carryin' On is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1969 and released on the Blue Note label. The album marked Green's return to the Blue Note label and embracing a jazz-funk style that he would play for the rest of his life. The Allmusic review by Steve Huey awarded the album 3 stars and stated "While it won't win over fans of Green's older work, Carryin' On is a solid addition to any acid-jazz/funk/rare-groove library, as are most of Green's albums from this period".

With a band history like The Kelly Family, there are of course many highlights! But when it comes to concerts, there are a few that are right at the top. When the band played at the Loreley for the first time in 1995, the excitement was immense. Big open-air concerts were not yet the norm and then this show was to be broadcast live on television. To this day, it is still regarded as one of their best recorded live concerts. And even after 30 years, the recordings of this show still touch people all over the world. this is to be celebrated in 2025 for the 30th anniversary! That's why this legendary concert is being released in a "Deluxe Edition" on DVD and 2 CDs with a booklet full of great photos.

68 track 3CD box set celebrating the Leeds’ independent scene of the 1980s. Featuring Soft Cell, Sisters Of Mercy, Gang Of Four, The Wedding Present, Scritti Politti, The Mission, and many more. Including The Mekons, CUD, Delta 5, The Pale Saints, Girls At Our Best, Age Of Chance, The Bridewell Taxis who all stamped their mark on the indie charts and were regulars/favourites on John Peel’s radio show. Like many Northern cities, Leeds enjoyed an explosion of music triggered by the big bang of punk rock in 1977. Indie labels sprung up to cater for a new wave of bands, who carved their own identity as the 80s dawned. ‘Where Were You’ is the first comprehensive anthology of Leeds’ independent music from that period, through to the end of the 1980s. From punk to goth, indie pop to industrial dancefloor, out-and-out pop to underground psychedelia, the four hours’ worth of recordings here are a celebration of the musical diversity emanating from the city’s studios and clubs.

ZAZ has been a household name in French music since her breakout 2010 hit "Je veux," a jazz-swinging folk ditty about doing things her way. More than a decade later, the singer-songwriter’s style of pop has only become more multifaceted. ZAZ peels away the layers on this fifth album, the title of which is an abbreviated nod to her real name, Isabelle Geffroy. On the peppy “Imagine," she dreams of a gentler world, brighter days, and the possibility of writing one's own future, her voice fluttering over strummed guitar with world-weary abandon. "Ce que tu es dans ma vie" is a heartfelt and hopeful ode to her young stepdaughter set against a backdrop of piano, lightly plucked guitars, and a minimal electronic beat. She shows her versatility on "Le jardin des larmes," teaming up with Rammstein singer Till Lindemann for an entrancingly theatrical waltz about a teary love affair. Isa may be ZAZ's most understated and vulnerable album, but it's uplifted by her irrepressible spirit.

Digitally remastered edition of this album from the pianist, poet and composer extraordinaire from Montenegro. Recorded in 1975, Soul Impressions condenses the entire mastery and inspiration of the brilliant Franco-Yugoslav composer Janko Nilovic into 12 generous tracks. A total adept when it comes to bubbling studio sessions and gleaming arrangements, our man incessantly works furiously and devotedly on his music, throwing himself body and soul into the creation of one of the '70s most individual and coherent musical works. On Soul Impressions we discover an incredible kaleidoscope of influences which diffract musical perspectives: here pop dives into torrents of fuzz, funk takes on a psychedelic air, jazz flirts with rock, and easy listening contorts strangely into the baroque.

    Genre: Classical

The reconstruction of the compositional chronology of Georg Friedrich Händel’s repertoire for flute is extremely complex. There are various reasons for this, stemming from two essential factors: on the one hand, the typical tendency for much of Händel’s music to transmigrate from one instrument to another and the consequent impossibility, at times, of determining precisely which version of a particular piece is the original; on the other hand, the proliferation, at a time when no copyright regulations existed, of diverse printed editions. Many of these, unauthorised, generated different versions, errors or misinterpretations, which were possibly also passed on over time. For this CD recording, which features a substantial part of the complete corpus of the sonatas for recorder and transverse flute, we compared the two earliest printed versions containing sonatas for solo instrument by Händel. Both were published by the London publisher Walsh, although for a long time the first of the two editions was attributed to the Amsterdam publisher Roger, but then, thanks to the studies of Terence Best and David Lasocki, it turned out to be a ‘pirate’ publication by the same publisher Walsh (who probably had not yet obtained Händel’s permission to publish).

No words can describe how great the inaugural release from Complete 60s Records is – because there are no words! This exciting new label from England is undertaking an unprecedented, decade-long project to compile every single Billboard Hot 100 instrumental hit of the 1960s. Complete Pop Instrumental Hits of the Sixties, Vol. 1 – 1960 marks the beginning of a series of releases that will definitively document the decade when the pop instrumental genre truly reached its zenith. Rock, rhythm ’n’ blues, country, and orchestral instrumental singles all vied for a spot in the Hot 100 weekly charts. Hundreds of them earned that coveted spot in history, and when this project is complete you’ll own them all in the order they peaked on the charts! That way, you can experience them the way the world did in 1960. You’ll hear how surf music evolved, how rock combos and orchestral arrangers influenced each other, and how easy listening emerged as a distinct sound during this golden decade. The Ventures, Chet Atkins, Johnny & the Hurricanes, Percy Faith, Bill Black, Ferrante & Teicher – these giants of the genre are all here on Complete Pop Instrumental Hits of the Sixties, Vol. 1 – 1960. But, so are Monty Kelly, the Ramblers, and Charles Wolcott. Who, you ask? All of them scored instrumental hits in 1960, none of which have ever been on CD before now. In fact, this 81-track, 3-CD set includes no less than 16 CD debuts and dozens of genuinely rare tracks – 45 in true stereo. That’s over three hours of music!

Pure DSD. By 1958, Miles Davis had already carved his place in modern jazz, but Milestones marked the beginning of something bigger, the shift from bebop and hard bop toward the modal explorations that would redefine the music in the years to come. Recorded at Columbia’s famed 30th Street Studio in New York, with George Avakian producing and Harold Chapman at the console, this album captures a band on the brink of greatness, and a leader sharpening the tools that would make Kind of Blue possible just a year later.

The jazz violin of French-American Antoine Silverman creates a more lyrical approach to swing, teaming with guitarist Andy Reiss for a sound wonderfully reminiscent of the great Stephan Grappelli. The quartet nudges the nuances on a dozen evergreens, the best of which is an inventive rendition of "Softly As in a Morning Sunrise." Also top-level are their readings of "How High the Moon," "Autumn Leaves" and "Angel Eyes." Great listening.

Despite the departure of organist Matthew Fisher, Procol Harum survived, and this album is ample proof. Fisher was one of the prime architects of the Harum sound, and his work on such classics as "Shine on Brightly" and, of course, "Whiter Shade of Pale" underline that. Procol continued as a four-piece, and it was indeed a good thing that they decided not to replace Fisher. The sound of the band on this album is a bit sparser, but definitely not without dimension and dynamics. "Simple Sister," one of the finest Gary Brooker/Keith Reid compositions, is truly glorious, with Robin Trower's frightening lead guitar work juxtaposed nicely against a wonderful string arrangement. Several other tracks are first rate, including "Power Failure" and "Playmate of the Mouth." Along with Little Feat, Procol Harum was a great survivor among rock bands that lost a key member. The proof is in these grooves.

From what’s being termed as a ‘Japanese Fan Club CD’, a new 3 CD set is being touted. Judging by the track list – A few that MAY already have been released, there are many that already haven’t and are making their premier on silver disk. With scant reflection from the tracklist below, we’ll have to wait and see what’s on here but this could be as thrilling as ‘Foxes In The Boxes’ or ‘Static In The Attic’ for new and polished sounding Stones outtakes.

Never viewed as A-listers, Blancmange rarely feature in lists of the crème de la crème of 1980s electropop pioneers alongside sacred trailblazers such as New Order, The Human League and Soft Cell. Yet Moby has a strong case when he argues, as he did recently, that they are "probably the most underrated electronic act of all time".
