    John Rambo, a former Green Beret and Medal of Honor recipient, is plagued by the awful changes that are common in Vietnam veterans like himself. Once incarcerated, Rambo soon finds himself reliving the awful memories of his fighting days in the 'Nam as he is put through the basic tests that are mandatory for all prisoners of the law.     Roy Andersson's WORLD OF GLORY is a classic, recognised by the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival to be one of history's most important short films, and included in a top-ten list together with such films as the Lumiere Brothers' LA BATAILLE DE BOULES DE NEIGE and Luis Bunuel's UN CHIEN ANDALOU. The film is unique and shows, in a series of tableaus, a man in various frozen situations. He's the product of a stiff and reserved Sweden, living politely while feeling very miserable somewhere behind the painfully correct facade. The film's Swedish title, Härlig är Jorden (literally, 'Lovely is the earth'), which comes from a Swedish hymn of the same name, stands in sharp contrast to the cold and lifeless mood of the scenes.

    Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie is a computer-animated film based on VeggieTales, produced by Big Idea Productions for Artisan Entertainment and FHE Pictures. Released in 2002, it was the first feature-length film in the VeggieTales series. The themes of the movie are compassion and mercy. The movie weaves two stories together to illustrate these themes. The first take place in the current day and concerns a mishap that occurs on the way to a concert. The second, set in ancient Israel, is based directly on the Biblical story of Jonah. Through both stories viewers learn that they must be compassionate and merciful and that all people deserve a second chance.     Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen is the 14th episode in the VeggieTales animated series. Subtitled "A Lesson in Courage", it conveys the message that you do not need to be afraid to do what is right. The story is taken from the Book of Esther in the Old Testament, in which Esther becomes Queen and must tell King Xerxes that his prime minister Haman is plotting to commit genocide against the Jews. The violent undertones are, of course, removed for this VeggieTales production; murder is replaced by banishment to the "Island of Perpetual Tickling", and the intended victims are limited to Esther and her family without reference to their race or creed. The presentation of the story was inspired by The Godfather and Casablanca and has stylistic elements of a Film noir. The dramatic lighting, deep shadows, dark plot elements, and narrative voiceovers all contribute to the effect. The palace windows are even hung with Venetian blinds, an iconic element of the genre.
