In 1994 he graduated from High Courses of scriptwriters and directors in Moscow (class by Fjodor Khitruk). His most famous film At the Ends of the Earth (1999) was made at French animation studio Folimage. Totally his films won about hundred awards at different film festivals. He is a member of the French and Russian Film Academies.

    “CREMASTER 2" is loosely based on "The Executioner’s Song," by Norman Mailer, which tells the story of Gary Gilmore, a convicted killer put to death in 1977, who since has been famed as Harry Houdini’s grandson. Filled with beautiful shots of glaciers in the Canadian Rockies and the Salt Flats of Utah, the film moves back and forth in time, from the 1893 World Fair in Chicago where Gary Gilmore’s grandmother supposedly met Harry Houdini (played by Norman Mailer) and conceived Gilmore’s father, to the 1970’s.
    The full series was released in a limited series of 20 sets of DVDs, sold each for at least $100,000, and will not be made available on mass-market DVD. However a 30-minute part of the third film is available on DVD, and the latest installment with his girlfriend, Bjork, Drawing Restraint.

    Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British drama film directed by Danny Boyle, co-directed by Loveleen Tandan, and written by Simon Beaufoy. Tandan, who began as the film's casting director, was later appointed the co-director by Boyle because of her significant contributions to the film's production. Set and filmed in India, Slumdog Millionaire tells the story of a young, uneducated man from the Dharavi slums of Mumbai who appears on an Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and exceeds people's expectations, arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials.

    Jamal Malik, 18 ans, orphelin vivant dans les taudis de Mumbai, est sur le point de remporter la somme colossale de 20 millions de roupies lors de la version indienne de l'émission Qui veut gagner des millions ? Sommé de justifier ses bonnes réponses, Jamal explique d'où lui viennent ses connaissances et raconte sa vie dans la rue, ses histoires de famille et même celle de cette fille dont il est tombé amoureux et qu'il a perdue. Mais comment ce jeune homme est-il parvenu en finale d'une émission de télévision ? La réponse ne fait pas partie du jeu, mais elle est passionnante.
