With John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, and Jack DeJohnette, this group rivaled the best fusion bands of the day. It must have been an intimidating challenge for a young Czech bassist to lead such a group on his debut album as a frontman, especially since he composed five of the six tracks. Recorded a year after the historic Bitches Brew and the year before Vitous began a stint with the innovative Weather Report, this was trend-setting fusion. It's produced by Herbie Mann, for whom Vitous played on such albums as Memphis Underground and Stone Flute.

Alfred Schnittke seems to have encountered a renaissance with the solo piano late in life. Until the mid-1980s, he had written only one piano sonata, sometime in the '50s, and he eventually discarded it. But in 1987 Schnittke composed a First Piano Sonata of sizable scope for friend and pianist Vladimir Feltsman; shortly afterwards materialized Schnittke's Second and Third Piano Sonatas. This CD presents all three together.

After two years of work in Milan, Los Angeles, New York and London, Mario Biondi’s new album, Sun, was released to stores on January 29. The album has an international flavor, being produced by Biondi and Jean Paul Maunick (aka Bluey), leader of Incognito. the historic British jazz band. Sun is an album characterized by important collaborations, like the one with the great American artist Chaka Khan, who, with Biondi and Incognito, interprets in a unique manner the song "Lowdown" by Boz Scaggs.

Peter Gabriel's Grammy Award winning film Secret World Live has now been newly restored and remastered from the original film to be seen and heard in the best possible quality on Blu-ray for the first time. Filmed in Modena, Italy across two nights in November 1993 as part of Peter Gabriel's acclaimed Secret World Live tour in support of the Us album, the show is elaborately presented and choreographed with two stages joined by a narrow pier. Peter Gabriel has always been a charismatic live performer with the ability to draw his audience into the onstage world he has created and rarely has this been better captured than on Secret World Live.

Penultimate album of 15 ones that launched by strings orchestra of musician, violinist and conductor Herman Clebanoff (Chicago, 1917-2004) for the Mercury label. The two discs held at 'Strings afire' -the first with international repertoire and this with Latin themes- were very prominent in his production. His arrangements are generally very successful activating in them at times the role of some of his musicians (he usually plays his violin with mature and woody tone that subjugates). This is an album full of "Latin lounge" atmosphere rather than Spanish music.

Album released by the flamenco singer José Sánchez Gómes (Algeciras, 1945), aka 'Pepe de Lucía ', brother of the guitarists Paco de Lucia and Ramon de Algeciras. After years he shared with them, Pepe began a solo career, as he has brought major success getting a Grammy for Best Flamenco Album in 2003. This album was dedicated to his father. The album is rich with collaborations like Antonio and Josema Carmona (Ketama), Enrique Soto and José Soto 'Sorderita', Alejandro Sanz, Vicente Amigo, Moraíto Chico, Juan Manuel Cañizares, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent and even his own brother Paco de Lucia.
