I have a confession. The music of Knudage Riisager (1897-1974) has been and remains a secret passion. Well, perhaps no longer secret as this is, I think, my fourth review of recordings of his music. He is, alas, barely known outside his native Denmark and even in his native country his music is a rarity in concert programs. But he was a true original whose mastery of his craft, sly humor and utter dedication to his profession were exemplary……

To label Aero as a Modern Rock band simply falls short. While the Boston-based foursome’s self-produced debut album “Chaos” features powerhouse rock anthems like “Tongue Tied” and “Hate Me”, the scope of this band simply can’t be pinpointed by the usual conventions. Their sound is undeniably rock and yet so much more, drawing from a diverse spectrum of influences and experiences, culminating in a unique and captivating sound.

The orchestral music of the 60s was portentously represented by the great composer, arranger and conductor Henry Mancini. In a years when it was common to attend the launch of discs with original or inspired Hawaiian music could not miss the contribution of Mancini to these repertoires. In 1966 he released this album that was later reissued as a CD in 2002, with a selection of songs among which were several of the usual with Hawaiian ambience complemented with other compositions taken from movies.

This is the second album of a recent compilation collection of 4 CDs for lovers of flamenco.
